On my flight last night from JFK to Frankfurt I came across the most delightful article in my complementary copy of Tuesday's Süddeutsche Zeitung. An article by Martin Langeder calls attention to infrastructure developments in what was the last inhabited Tyrolean valley without a road link.
Kaisertal, with its 32 residents, has only been connected by road to the outside world since June. Residents will no longer have to rely on their feet to explore the world beyond the village—and cars will no longer have to either be transported by helicopter or carried part by part into Kaisertal. Remarkable.
